Expert Leadership

Greg Paquin
President & FounderGreg Paquin is the President and founder of The Gregory Group, one of California's premier housing research and advisory firms. With over 35 years of experience in real estate and land development, Greg is recognized as a trusted industry expert in market trends, housing economics, buyer segmentation, and community design. His expertise spans architectural review, master-planned communities, high-density and mixed-use developments, and resort properties.
Under Greg's leadership, The Gregory Group delivers forward-looking, data-driven insights to a wide range of clients—including homebuilders, land developers, financial institutions, government agencies, nonprofits, and investors. The firm is distinguished by its rigorous research methodologies and its proprietary New Home Database, a quarterly survey tracking all new-home projects across California.
Since founding the company in 1999, Greg has served on the board of HomeAid Sacramento, contributed to Eskaton's Livable Design advisory committee, and advised top developers, government bodies, and nonprofit organizations. A member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), he has mentored with the ULI Young Leaders Group and is also a member of Lambda Alpha International, a global land economics society.
Greg is a sought-after speaker, frequently presenting at major industry events such as the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC), ULI forums, Business Journal Economic Forecasts, and private investor summits. He has been featured nationally on NBC News and NPR, and quoted in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Sacramento Bee, and Business Journal.
Before launching The Gregory Group, Greg held senior analyst roles at firms including Market Profiles, The Meyers Group, and Great Western Real Estate. His early career was marked by close collaboration with developers across the Western U.S., aligning research with sales and marketing strategies.
A native Californian, Greg earned his B.A. in Economics from California State University, Long Beach. The Gregory Group operates from two California locations—Folsom in Northern California and Aliso Viejo in Southern California. An avid endurance athlete, Greg enjoys long-distance running and cycling and has completed multiple half-Ironman races and the California International Marathon.
